Bulk Freight Transport Brisbane

Discounted bulk freight delivery on direct point-to-point movements across Brisbane, South East Queensland and regional Queensland.

Bulk Freight is Ontime Haulers' discounted option for bulk deliveries that travel direct point-to-point. Instead of moving your consignment through an ordinary multi-consignment delivery run, the freight is loaded onto a suitable vehicle and taken straight from the pickup address to the delivery address. Because the load is dedicated to a single movement, handling is reduced and the freight is priced as one bulk movement rather than consignment by consignment — which is why bulk freight is usually the better commercial choice once the volume, pallet count or weight starts to fill a vehicle.

What we offer

  • Discounted bulk freight rates for volume travelling as one direct movement
  • Direct point-to-point delivery — no multi-consignment delivery run
  • Full or substantial vehicle loads, from vans through to semi-trailers and B-doubles
  • Warehouse-to-warehouse, DC and manufacturing freight across Brisbane and regional QLD
  • Recurring bulk lanes and project freight scoped to your schedule
  • Tailgate and electric pallet jack available where there is no forklift on site

How it works

  1. 1

    Send the details

Tell us the freight type, total weight, pallet count or volume, dimensions, and the pickup and delivery addresses.

  2. 2

    We scope and quote

We confirm whether the freight suits a direct bulk movement, select the vehicle and equipment, and quote the movement.

  3. 3

    Direct delivery

The load travels point-to-point from pickup to delivery, with proof of delivery returned once unloaded.

What Ontime Haulers means by Bulk Freight

Bulk Freight is not a separate network — it is how we handle freight that suits a dedicated, direct movement. When a consignment is large enough to justify its own vehicle, we take it straight from pickup to delivery and price it as a bulk movement, which is where the discount comes from.

Direct point-to-point

The vehicle is loaded at your site and driven straight to the delivery address. No consolidation with other customers' freight and no depot handling in between.

Suitable for a dedicated movement

Bulk freight suits loads that fill, or substantially fill, a vehicle — large pallet runs, bulk cartons, bagged or drummed product, machinery and industrial materials.

Priced as one bulk movement

The freight is quoted as a single bulk movement on a suitable vehicle rather than as individual consignments in an ordinary delivery run. Every bulk movement is quoted on request.

Reduced handling

Fewer touch points means less risk of damage and a tighter, more predictable delivery window at the far end.

Who bulk freight delivery suits

Bulk Freight is generally the right call when the volume is large, the destination is single and the freight is better off travelling on its own.

Manufacturers and industrial suppliers

Raw materials, components and finished goods moved in bulk between plants, suppliers and customers.

Wholesalers and distributors

Large pallet runs and bulk stock movements out to a single warehouse, branch or trade customer.

Warehouse and DC operators

Warehouse-to-warehouse transfers, distribution-centre movements and stock rebalancing between facilities.

Project and construction freight

Staged project deliveries, site materials and one-off bulk movements coordinated to a delivery window.

Supplier-to-customer direct movements

Freight sent straight from your supplier's dock to your customer without passing through your own warehouse.

Recurring bulk lanes

Regular bulk runs on the same lane — for example a weekly Brisbane to Toowoomba or Brisbane to Sunshine Coast movement.

What determines suitability and vehicle selection

There is no single bulk freight vehicle. We size the vehicle to the load and to the sites at both ends, then confirm the arrangement in your quote.

Freight type and total weight

What the freight is, how dense it is and the total weight determine deck capacity, restraint and the vehicle class required.

Dimensions, pallet count and volume

Pallet numbers, footprint, height and any overhang decide whether a rigid truck, semi-trailer or larger combination is needed.

Pickup and delivery locations

Where the freight starts and finishes, and the distance and route between them, shape the vehicle and the schedule.

Loading and unloading facilities

Forklift or dock at each end, or tailgate and electric pallet jack where there is none, is confirmed before dispatch.

Site access

Driveway width, height clearance, truck turning space and whether a semi-trailer or B-double can physically reach the site.

Timing and dedication

Required pickup and delivery days, any site time slots, and whether the freight genuinely needs a dedicated direct movement.

Bulk Freight compared with our other services

Bulk Freight sits alongside our standard service levels. If your freight does not need a dedicated direct movement, one of the services below will usually suit better.

Bulk Freight

Discounted delivery for bulk volume travelling direct point-to-point on a suitable dedicated vehicle, rather than as part of an ordinary multi-consignment run.

Palletised Freight

Standard pallet delivery, from a single pallet upwards, moved on our General or Express services. Best when the volume does not warrant a dedicated vehicle.

General Service

Our cost-effective standard service. Overnight delivery for most zones, with some zones taking around 2 business days, and pickup generally available the business day before the expected delivery.

Express Service

Same-day pickup and delivery when both pickup and delivery are in eligible Pricing Zone 1 or Zone 2 suburbs. Book by 9:00 AM, or in advance for a specific day.

Hot Shot

Available anytime for urgent freight, subject to vehicle and driver availability — for when the freight cannot wait.

Taxi Truck Hire

A day-hire facility for a vehicle and driver, with a minimum hire of 8 hours in most cases and a 4-hour minimum only in exceptional, pre-arranged cases. Use it when you need the truck for a period rather than a single movement.

Vehicle comparison at a glance

Ontime Haulers runs 50+ vehicles (company and owner-driver) from its Archerfield depot, plus around 50 partner vehicles at peak demand. Hydraulic tailgates are fitted to rigid trucks only, and every tailgate truck carries an electric pallet jack. Vans have no tailgate. Semi-trailers and B-doubles need a dock or forklift at the receiving end. Not sure which to book? Our dispatch team will match the right vehicle to your load.

Bulk freight problems we solve

The problem

Bulk volume being moved as individual consignments on an ordinary multi-drop run.

Where the freight suits a dedicated direct movement, we quote it as one bulk movement point-to-point instead.

The problem

Bulk freight handled repeatedly in transit, adding delay and damage risk.

Direct point-to-point dispatch from your dock to the delivery address, with no consolidation in between.

The problem

Not sure whether the load needs a rigid truck, a semi-trailer or a B-double.

Send weight, pallet count, dimensions and site access and we recommend the smallest vehicle that carries the load safely and can reach both sites.

Frequently Asked Questions

Bulk Freight is discounted freight for bulk deliveries that travel direct point-to-point. The consignment is loaded onto a suitable vehicle and taken straight from pickup to delivery rather than being moved as part of an ordinary multi-consignment delivery run, so handling is reduced and the freight is quoted as one bulk movement.

When the freight fills or substantially fills a vehicle, when it is all going to a single delivery address, when reduced handling matters, or when you need a tighter delivery window than a standard multi-drop run can offer. Send us the volume and the two addresses and we will tell you honestly whether a direct movement or a standard service suits better.

Palletised Freight is standard pallet delivery from a single pallet upwards, moved on our General or Express services alongside other consignments. Bulk Freight is for volume large enough to justify its own dedicated vehicle travelling direct point-to-point, which is what makes the bulk discount possible.

Freight type, total weight, pallet count or volume, dimensions including any overhang or overheight, the pickup and delivery addresses, the loading and unloading facilities at each end, site access for larger vehicles, and your required timing. With those details we can confirm the vehicle and quote the movement.

We work from the total weight, pallet count and dimensions, then check the loading and unloading facilities and the site access at each end. We recommend the smallest vehicle that carries the load safely and can physically reach both sites — anything from a van through rigid trucks to a semi-trailer or B-double.

Yes, where our service rules and site access allow it. Residential delivery depends on the street and driveway suiting the vehicle required for the load, and on safe ground-level unloading — a tailgate and electric pallet jack can be allocated where there is no forklift. Tell us it is a residential address when you request the quote so we allocate a suitable vehicle.

Yes. Regular bulk movements on the same lane are common — for example weekly warehouse-to-warehouse or distribution-centre runs. Recurring lanes are usually set up on an account. If you need the same vehicle and driver on a run every business day, Permanent Daily Hire may suit you better.

Bulk freight moves across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, the Darling Downs, Wide Bay and Northern NSW, plus the other regions listed on our service areas pages. Send the two addresses and we will confirm coverage and transit for your lane.
